The Post with 20 Songs to Run To

See? I’m catching up. (For the record, I realize the title should probably be 20 Songs To Which you can Run, but whatever.)

As you well know, I can’t survive a stint on the treadmill without a good playlist. Thanks to Mike’s gigantic music collection, I don’t have to struggle so much to find good music to get me over the hump. So here are a few of my favorites:

Little Thoughts – Bloc Party (almost anything from that album, Gasoline, actually)

Hollaback Girl – Gwen Stefani (yeah, I know. Cheesy as hell. But whatever, it keeps me from stopping.)

Lazy Eye – Silversun Pickups

Reason is Treason – Kasabian

Hello Time Bomb – Matthew Good

You Only Live Once – The Strokes

O Valencia – The Decemberists

Portions for Foxes – Rilo Kiley

C’Mere – Interpol

Sam’s Town – The Killers

Hands Open – Snow Patrol

C’mon C’mon – The Von Bondies (thanks for that one, Denis Leary)

It’s My Life – Bon Jovi (no joke. It must be a nostalgia thing.)

Need to Get Some – Division of Laura Lee

Sicne U Been Gone – Kelly Clarkson (I know, I know. I almost slipped on the Velveeta once. But it works.)

DOA – Foo Fighters

U & Ur Hand – Pink

Hung Up – Madonna

Are You Gonna Be My Girl? – JET

Hm. Now THAT is something I should do this weekend — get some playlists together to try to inspire me. I have to get back at it next week after my “sick” layoff, and it’s going to be hard. BUT… We’re getting 15+ degree weather here next week, so I might even get out for a walk or two. But at the very least, I need to get something to keep me going on the treadmill.

It works, I tell you! It’s gotten me over the hump many a time (and likely will again in a couple of hours when I stare down that clock again.)
