The Post with the Teeth and the Dream

Last night I dreamed that my teeth were falling out.

I have this dream a lot, and I won’t bore you with the details, because hearing about someone else’s dreams is often like being forced to watch old home movies. But I was curious about what it meant, because i know I’m not the only person who dreams this. So today I did a little research on the interweb, and man, apparently everyone has a different interpretation of what this dream means. According to Defective Yeti, who also has this dream quite regularly, Freud says it’s one of the four typical dreams. Along with falling from a great height, flying, and embarrassment over being scantily clad.

So, fabulous. Whatever it means, it means I’m completely typical.

I like to think it means I should go to the dentist more often, because I will say this: this is the first dream I’ve had where I was at a dentist’s office when it happened. On a Sunday. And when all my bottom teeth fell out, I said “Hey, can I get in to see a dentist around here?” and the man who turned out to be a dentist laughed, and told me “Of course you can. But it’s Easter Sunday, so it’s going to cost a bomb.”

  1. I cannot tell you how hard I laughed at this. Also? I feel a little guilty for laughing.

If I were to analyse your dream I’d say: don’t eat the whatever-it-was-you-ate-before-bed last night before bed again.

  2. Don’t feel guilty for laughing. It’s pretty – well, crazy.

Especially because I didn’t eat anything before bed!
